Professor Proinsias Piocardach is missing in South America, where Tintin, Captaen Haileabó and Báinín are searching for him. They discover that Piocardach has been taken to a surviving outpost of the Inca civilisation — the fabled Temple of the Sun, high in the Andes mountains. After a perilous expedition over snow-capped mountains and monstrous jungle, Tintin and his friends reach the temple, only to find themselves prisoners of a vengeful priest. Their fate is doomed, unless light gives way to darkness…
